When lockdown hit, it was an incredibly challenging time for the creative sector across the UK.

In Northern Ireland, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Arts, and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Northern Ireland came together to produce a series of short dramas, filmed under lockdown restrictions and providing much needed work for the industry and stunning new content for viewers.

Splendid Isolation is the result of this collaboration, a series of seven short, sharp dramas from some of Northern Ireland’s finest writers, directors and actors. They explore the positive and negative aspects of social isolation and lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

It is a great example of how the arts can respond and reflect our everyday experiences through marvellous storytelling and the collaboration of talented artists.

Arts presenter, Marie-Louise Muir, talks to the key players involved in bringing this thought-provoking commission to life for a special Digital Cities Virtual masterclass from Belfast.

The panel comprises Jimmy Fay, executive producer, Lyric Theatre, Feargal O’Kane, series producer for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Northern Ireland and writer and director, Sarah Gordon.

It aims to provide a unique insight into the production and curation of digital arts content and the lessons learned from this co-production which can be applied to future productions.
