With two international events taking place in one region, Coventry City of Culture 2021 and Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, what do we want the lasting legacy to be for young people and the creative industries? Hear how digital curators, experts in immersive experiences and filmmakers are showcasing the West Midlands on a global stage.

Elizabeth is the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½â€™s Political Editor in the Midlands. Born and raised in the region, she started her career at what was then ITV Carlton (now Central) before becoming a Researcher on factual programmes for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 4 at the corporation’s Pebble Mill Studios.
Having worked for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 5Live, ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Asian Network and then as reporter and newsreader at assortment of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ local radio stations, she became the main Breakfast and Lunch presenter at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Midlands Today in 2013.
In 2015 she moved to London becoming a news correspondent for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ network news, before moving to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Westminster as a reporter on Live Political programmes. These included Daily and Sunday Politics with Andrew Neil, various Budget and Election specials and the relaunched Politics Live which she presented on a number of occasions. Whilst doing this in 2018 she also became the full time presenter of Sunday Politics London, made by the independent production company Juniper for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½.
In 2019 she took on the role of UK Correspondent for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Newsnight covering politics and policy across the country, before returning home in 2020 to help relaunch the new ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ regional political programme Politics Midlands, taking on the role of political editor in October. Elizabeth studied Politics at the University of Exeter, and lives in Birmingham with her husband who is a political journalist working in Westminster.

Bonny John – Create Central Member and an experienced Filmmaker and Creative Project Manager, with a demonstrated history of working in the public relations and communications industry. He has been a Filmmaker for over 8 years and has worked with many well-known brands such as Cadbury's, Emirates, Carlsberg and Qatar airways.
Within the Midlands, he has achieved a Royal Television Award for best online promotional and have been nominated nationally for the Cream awards by the Drum network. Also with a background in Art & Design, his commissioned work has been displayed at the Tate Britain, London.
He is from Kerala, South India and have been living in the UK since 2004. Having experienced and lived in a wealth of culture and languages - His work ethic is always influenced by the strength of collaboration and values-based communication.
Helen Routledge - CEO of Totem Learning, a Learning Technologies company developing AR, VR, simulations and game based learning solutions for the Corporate and Educational sectors.
Helen was one of the first pioneers to talk about the benefits that a more game-like approach can bring to learning and development. Her work has always been innovative and she has disrupted the global training and development industry with some of the largest organisations worldwide including KPMG, Deloitte, HP and Shell.
Tony Guillan - Digital Curator at Coventry City of Culture Trust, leading the development of immersive and interactive programmes for UK City of Culture 2021. He is interested in the role of new technologies to change how and where we consume and participate in art and culture; previously he led Tate’s flagship digital innovation programme the IK Prize and has forged collaborations between artists, technologists, and communities at national museums including Tate and IWM and on behalf of The Space, Latitude Festival, Liverpool Biennial and the Canal & River Trust.
Coventry’s City of Culture year will demonstrate new ways to co-create and share stories, enable mass-participation on and offline, and develop creative approaches to social change in areas such as health, wellbeing, and the environment.
Raidene Carter - Executive Producer, Cultural Programme & Live Sites for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Experienced Creative leader and theatre producer with 18+ years in the subsidised and charitable performing arts sector.
Skilled in producing Community Theatre, New Writing, Youth Arts Participation and Outdoor Arts, as well as Arts Project Management, Arts Education and Theatre & Venue Programming. 2016 MOBO & LTC Executive Fellow. BA (Hons) Drama and Education focused on Applied Theatre Practice, Education and Performance from Central School of Speech and Drama, U. of London. Board Member for Mem Morrison Company Trustee for The Paper Birds Theatre Company (since 2017) and National Theatre Wales (since May 2019). External examiner for BCU/Birmingham School of Acting Applied Theatre (Community & Education) BA. (Since 2018).
