Are you an air guitar hero?

Become an air guitar record breaker!

If you're heading to the Reading Festival then not only can you enjoy live music and a weekend of care-free revelling, but you can also be part of a world record attempt...

Air guitar may be a bit of an indulgence reserved for the bedroom or a late night dancefloor, but if you're heading to the Reading Festival then you can use your strumming skills for a world record attempt.

On Thursday 21 August at 7pm, charity ActionAid will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the 'largest air guitar ensemble'.

And where better to gather together hundreds of wannabe rockers than the world famous three-dayer?

The charity is inviting all festival goers to their tent, a regular feature at Reading.

Leading the crowd will be 'expert' air guitarist and UK Air Guitar Championships regular, Dave 'Wildman' Pickles.

A representative from Guinness World Records will also be on hand to check entrants abide by the stringent rules.

All air guitars must be played correctly and consistently in order to qualify.Ìý

The most important part of the attempt, the tune itself, is still being kept top secret as ActionAid representatives trawl their Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Guns N Roses collections, debating whether to keep it classic or surprise the crowd with something more inventive.

The only way to find out, is to turn up!
