Your CommunityYou are in: Birmingham > People > Your Community > The Birmingham dragon down under  The dragon stamp The Birmingham dragon down underHave a look at this new Australian stamp - featuring a dragon that was photographed two years ago by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Birmingham website! The dragon was snapped by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Birmingham website producer Sarah Loat in 2006 as part of the city's Chinese New Year celebrations. Two years later, Australia Post - the Aussie equivalent of the Royal Mail - asked us if they could use the image of the dragon to form the basis of an upcoming postage stamp.  Here it is - the brand new stamp The stamp commemorates the 2008 Beijing Olympics and goes into circulation in June '08. So that's a dragon in Birmingham, photographed during Chinese New Year, picked up by the Australian postal service to promote the Beijing Olympics!
