Richard Wilford

Richard Wilford has been with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ WM since 1994 and in his own words "has become one of the station's Jack of All Trades".

A full-time member of the sports team, Richard has branched out as a stand-in presenter for Phil Upton, Ed Doolan and Paul Franks. He's also been 'on loan' to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Hereford and Worcester in 2006 to present their Drivetime Show for nine months.

Born in Birmingham in 1970, Richard grew up in Bournville before expanding his horizons as a student with spells in Bradford, Leeds, Strasbourg and Pamplona.

"It was a great learning period - I developed the perfect pallet for matching the right wines with the right curries. It's a skill I'm proud of," Richard insists.

Married to the long-suffering Susan since 1996, he is now a very proud father to toddler Katie and an increasingly out-of-control menagerie of cuddly toys.

Utterly obsessed with sport, whether it be football, rugby union, cricket, basketball, the NFL or a competitive game of boules, Richard also finds time for the odd trip to see a musical and plenty of music gigs.

A recent highlight for Richard was commentating on Moseley's National Trophy win over Leeds at Twickenham, a quarter of a century after he was the scoreboard operator at The Reddings.

"It brought back many memories of my school days - but I still enjoyed it," he notes.
