I chose this band because I liked their: style of music, their image and their simplicity. I chose to have the bands faces sketched as I feel it “takes the attention” away from them, as the faces are distorted, and puts more attention on the music. Also because music can be seen as a form of art and these ideas complement one another well. The grey tones and softened edges represent the “mystery” and that “raw, minimal, indie” feel. They seem very true to their roots and are inspired by people; which is why I added the “City of Manchester” sign and the silhouettes of a crowd onto the design. The brick wall symbolises the “dimly lit basement” they work in and also the form and order of society in general. The font is artistic and looks almost like graffiti which, yet again, pays respect to their roots and also shows their youth. They seem very down to earth and I believe this design shows an “honest” portrayal of their musical influences. It complements the bands message “about real life” within their music.
