ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½

I have just been to the "Great Debate" on rates or rather the "lets get as many people in the one room who are against the rates change" debate - shame on the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ for allowing itself to be used in this way. Should my pensioner mother in her 2 bed house off the Lisburn Road subsidise a lady in Malone Park - I don't think so - the latter should sell her house, pocket the ?1-2m and move somewhere else she can afford. I have no sympathy.

At least Hanson had the courage to appear and defend his decision - our local politicians are more interested in not paying rates, going to jail, because they won't get into government with people who may have been in jail !

..... and well done John Simpson too!!
Although I still think a few pence in the pound as a local income tax would be a better solution.
