I'm the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s media correspondent and this is my summary of what's going on.

The newspapers are divided over the wisdom of the plans and whether the cuts go far enough.

The ITV has announced profits of £25 million, following a £2.7 billion loss in 2008. that they're the first figures to be unveiled by its new chairman Archie Norman.

and the the three main party leaders have agreed to the terms of three TV election debates, on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½1, ITV1 and Sky News. Smaller parties are still lobbying to get their own debates.
