If you want to catch Saturday Night Fever, then Bradford Alhambra's the place to be as Emma's been finding out: "By the end of the night everyone was on their feet to groove!"

The curtain hadn't even risen and the overture had only just begun, yet the audience simply couldn't resist tapping their feet and bopping along to the sound of the Bee Gees.Ìý The audience of opening night certainly had Monday night fever at the arrival of the classic musical, Saturday Night Fever at Bradford's Alhambra this week.

Not having been alive in the '70s myself, I found I'd been taken back in time and arrived in an era of white suits and boogie nights.Ìý The soundtrack was infectious from the opening and whether you were born in the '70s or not, Dance Fever soon took over.Ìý The collection of Bee Gees tracks are recognisable to anyone born in any era and that what makes this show a number one hit.

Sean Mulligan played the lead role, Tony Manero, and was certainly capable of strutting his stuff in the dance department, as well as displaying some fantastic vocal ability.Ìý Female audience members may even have fainted at the sight of his topless chest and muscle flexes early on in the performance!Ìý

The sleazy yet loveable character of DJ Monty played by the well-known face of Shaun Williamson, most recognised for his role as Barry in Eastenders, proved to be a hit with the audience, being easily able to work the crowd and produce some giggles along the way.Ìý Shaun also displayed immense vocal ability throughout the song Disco Inferno.Ìý Other cast members deserving a mention include Jade Westaby who played Stephanie and Samantha Berrisford playing Annette.

The Show displayed a mix of comedy, dance and vocal talent which proves to be the perfect recipe for a fun night out for anyone.Ìý The cast presented some fantastic choreography throughout numbers such as 'Night Fever', 'Boogie Shoes' and the fantastic opening track 'Stayin' Alive'.Ìý

The audience were itching in their seats to get up and dance along, so much so that by the end of the night everyone was on their feet to groove through the encore.

If you're looking for a little 'Night Fever' and feel like 'You Should Be Dancin' then slip on your 'Boogie Shoes' and head down to Bradford's Alhambra theatre all this week because Saturday Night Fever has just the thing for you!
