Andy C. heads up the party for Rukus

Andy Clarke

Andy Clarke is a drum and bass trend-setter.

He's also the man who formed Ram Records in 1992 and the group Origin Unknown with Ant Miles.

"Valley of the Shadows" was released in 1993, and quickly became not only an anthem but also a classic, being remixed and re-released repeatedly.

The duo was later joined by Shimon to form the supergroup Ram Trilogy.

Andy used to sneak into illegal acid house raves when he was just 13

On top of that he's worked with our own Roni Size, Dieselboy, Grooverider, and Decoder - so plenty of top quality pedigree then I'm sure you'll agree.

Last year he won the Number 1 Drum N' Bass DJ in Intuitive Music's annual poll.

This year he's started as he means to go on bagging the Knowledge Magazine Best DJ Award 2004 and the Accelerated Culture Best DJ Award 2003 & 2004.

Andy says the first record that grabbed him by the throat and got him into dance was Voodoo Ray by A Guy Called Gerald.

He was about 13 at the time and blames his sister who was responsible for sneaking him into illegal acid house raves - top girl we say!

He learned to play drums while at school - making tracks on a computer at home.

By '91 he was making hardcore tunes, with big stabs and the pianos, until one night....."We just had this magical five hours, and 'Valley Of The Shadows' came out of it."

Check into everyone's favourite floating club and enjoy Mr C at Rukus...
