They
range from huge concerts to street theatre, and street parties
and beacons to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee.
In Bristol you can go along to a street music festival
around the harbourside, with a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3 World Music
Concert in the evening at Canons Marsh amphitheatre.
There's
a 1950s music party outside The Mall in Cribbs Causeway
with bands all afternoon from 12pm-5pm.
In Bath's Alfred Street there will be a party run by
Woods Restaurant, with music.
Long Ashton Research Station will
be hosting will be hosting a jubilee party complete with jazz
band, tea dance, historical display and pig roast between
12-5.30. During the evening a beacon will be lit.
In Weston-super-Mare you'll be able to enjoy a music
event on Beach Lawns opposite the Grand Atlantic Hotel, as
well as a community party in Ellenborough Park East. The entertainment
runs from 13.00 to late evening.
A jubilee picnic with a jazz band is taking place at Uphill
nature reserve from 3pm. A beacon on top of the windmill will
be lit at 6pm.
Hutton in North Somerset is the hosting a street party
across the whole village.
There will be a schools orchestra, RAF band and street entertainers
as well as a large screen. The fun starts at midday and continues
into the evening.
The Fry Club is holding Keynsham's Community Jubilee
Fun Day between 12pm and 5pm. There will be live bands, marching
bands, singers, stalls, a fun fair, exhibitions, a bar and
stalls on the Front Field.
A visit to Corston between 3pm and 10pm will get you
to a jubilee party on the village green. A rhythm band and
a jazz band created just for the occasion will be playing.
In Glastonbury you can enjoy a town-wide
music and dance festival. There will be food stalls and a
special children's programme in the park from 12.00 into the
early evening.
Watch out for a tug-of-war over the Brue and listen out for
street bells ringing and bagpipes at 13.00.
Wellington boasts more than 10 hours of music from
12.00-22.30 on two stages at the Wellington Arts Centre.
You'll be able to hear a trad jazz combo, a swing trio, guest
female vocalists, internationally-renowned fiddle and banjo
virtuoso Johnny Butten, the Silver Street Band and several
solo artists.
In Wells you can hear non-stop music in the Market
Square from 12.00-17.00.
There'll be a youth concert and a wide variety of music from
local groups including jazz, soul and rock, and a performance
by the Wells City Brass Band.
Local bands are performing at Bridgwater Arts Centre
between 2pm and 5pm.
Axbridge is hosting a music and fun event with local
performers in the town square from 3.30pm and finishing with
fireworks at 11.30pm.
If you go down to Chard's Mitchell Gardens there'll
be a teddy bears' picnic from 5.00pm with a big last night
of the proms-style concert from 7.00pm. To round things off,
a beacon will be lit at 10.00pm.
There will be musical entertainment starting at 5.00pm at
Yeovil Recreation Ground.
Street party with bellringing and other musical events in
the centre of Buckland St Mary from 2.00pm until 9.30pm.
Evercreech hosts a musical jubilee picnic from 2.00pm
onwards on the recreation ground and in the village hall.
You'll find a jubilee musical extravaganza at Clarks Village
in Street. From 12.00pm to 5.00pm there will be all
types of music from jazz to country and western, and harp
to accordion in all the squares.
The villages of Stawell and Sutton Mallet in Somerset
are celebrating the Jubilee with a dance and pig roast at
the Village Hall on Saturday 1st June. There is also a street
party on Monday 3rd June with games and a tea for everyone
and a fancy hat parade.
