IMPACT

Lifeline Appeal July 2016

My brother’s smile has been missing for 16 years. We are so happy and thankful to IMPACT that it has now emerged.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ viewers’ generous response to IMPACT’s appeal in July 2016 raised £83,589.

IMPACT is a charity dedicated to preventing and treating needless disability worldwide. Our mobile hospitals and clinics, such as the Lifeline Express hospital train in India and a floating hospital in Bangladesh, take medical care and surgery to impoverished men, women and children who would otherwise be unable to afford treatment and remain needlessly disabled for life.

The success of our ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ appeal is helping IMPACT to ‘take the hospital’ to even more people in need. Like 16-year-old Pushpendra, who was born with a cleft lip. His parents had never been able to afford treatment and so when IMPACT’s hospital train stationed near their home, he was amongst the first in line.  Surgeons on board repaired Pushpendra’s cleft lip and he and his family are delighted with the results.

Reversing needlessly disabling conditions gives people a hand-up and removes the barriers they face to supporting themselves independently, so this action makes a positive impact on reducing poverty and fostering personal dignity too.

Thank you for helping to transform the lives of people like Pushpendra.
