We鈥檙e immensely grateful for the overwhelming support from the 蜜芽传媒 Radio 4 Appeal listeners who helped us to raise an amazing 拢19,289.22! The generosity of the listeners is deeply appreciated as it helps us take a step closer to our mission, where no children are left behind.

The appeal, presented by acclaimed broadcaster and wheelchair basketball player, Ade Adepitan shared Malaika鈥檚 inspirational story. Ten-year-old Malaika has cerebral palsy and wasn鈥檛 accessing schooling until she was given support by our network member Action Network for the Disabled (ANDY). Along with ANDY, Able Child rolled out its inclusive play Early Childhood Education project where children with and without disabilities learn how to play together, allowing for positive interactions between all children. This inclusive early education equips them with skills and knowledge to transition into primary education and beyond.

Teachers who have received training and continual support in inclusive play sessions, tailor activities to the needs of the individual children with disabilities. Malaika was given the platform to learn alongside her peers and develop meaningful relationships around her.

Malaika鈥檚 mother also benefitted from her local Parent Support Group which gave her emotional support and the tools to face her family鈥檚 challenges. Through the support from the group, Malaika鈥檚 mother has been able to get a better job which provides crucial financial relief. This extra income has allowed Malaika to stay enrolled in a school near her home and she is top of the class!

Since our appeal, our work has continued with ANDY, helping us to reach more children just like Malaika. So, thank you again to the 蜜芽传媒 Radio 4 listeners.
