Bantam of the Opera

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds and Bradford City AFC fans join together to form a Bantam of the Opera choir.

The choir performed a rendition of the club's anthem 'Take Me ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½' to a packed out Valley Parade. The Bantams were joined by former player and manager Chris Kamara, as well as operatic royalty Lesley Garrett.

Meet the football fans who will go from singing on the terraces to wowing audiences after being transformed into opera singers.

The fans - known as 'the Bantams' - will be taught to sing opera to celebrate the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture year, as part of a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds challenge.

Bantam of the Opera will follow their journey which will be packed full of performances as a choir throughout the year, in the lead up to a big finale.

The world-renowned ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Singers will support the Bantam’s choir during their development. Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, opera singer Lesley Garrett and sporting legend Chris Kamara, have all also pledged their support to the campaign.

Schools across Bradford are being invited to join the Bradford Music & Arts Service, and the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Leeds choir Bantam of the Opera, in attempting a number of world records on Tuesday 11 November.

As part of the UK City of Culture celebrations, thousands of children will come together to try and break world records for the ‘Largest Air-Drumming Session’ and ‘Largest Body Percussion Lesson’ at Bradford Live.

In support of , whose annual Appeal show will be aired on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One on Friday 14 November, schools are being invited to participate in fundraising activities to champion the main theme for 2025 of 'Challenge Yourself'.

Those taking part can support the cause by raising money and awareness for children and young people facing disadvantage in communities across the UK.
