Complaint
A viewer complained it was inaccurate and misleading for a report on the programme to state low-level radiation from devices such as mobile phones and Wi-Fi networks are not considered dangerous and that signals from such products are not harmful. Â
The ECU considered whether the broadcast met the relevant editorial standards of accuracy.
Outcome
The report looked at online claims that the electromagnetic waves emitted by mobile phones and the like could cause cancer and set out to examine the efficacy of products which claim to block such waves.  The ECU noted it reflected the weight of scientific evidence which indicates negative health effects are unlikely to occur if exposure is kept below international guideline levels.  It therefore met the standards for due accuracy set out in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Editorial Guidelines.
