Alex Parks sings for survival

Fame Academy

Keep up to date with Alex Parks progress on Fame Academy.

View the pictures from her performance on Saturday evening and listen to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Cornwall's report.

As the students begin to find there feet and settle into the house, we are beginning to see more of their true personalities develop as they find their soul mates in the house.

Alex has been getting on very well with Peter. They were having a little heart to heat yesterday about what they want to get out of Fame Academy. Alex said "I'd much rather do this than anything else. I do it 'cos I enjoy it. It's something I can do. I want people to listen to my songs, be inspired."

But they've also been scrapping with each other! They started arguing over a wrist band and it developed into a playful scrap where Alex ended up jumping off her bed and damaging a ligament. However, she made the most of it and lapped up the attention the other housemates gave her.

Onto the live show on Saturday evening and Alex sang REM's 'Everybody Hurts'. The pressure was on this week as not only did she have to impress the teachers, but it was her mum's favouite song and Alex wanted to be ather very best. You can listen to her performance on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Cornwall's Fame Academy report.

The nerves really got to Alex on the night. Although the song was better suited to her voice than last Wednesday's "Baby, Now That I've found You", her voice was shakey. It looked as if the teachers were going to be giving her a hard time, but suddenly the tune stepped up a notch and Alex burst into full voice.

Here's what the teachers had to say:

Richard Park Once again a little bit nervous. But I have to say that in the last 20 seconds of that song you overcame them and I think that's five in a row for you. Another winner. Well done

David Grant As much as it hurts me I have to agree with Richard Park. Until the last 20 seconds I thought you're just not doing it. But in the last 30 seconds you went up a gear and pulled the performance out

Carrie Grant Music isn't just about entertainment, and I actually think that will have helped a lot of people out there tonight
