Have a Blast in Cornwall

The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast reporter scheme is returning once again for the summer months. It's an opportunity for one young local person to work alongside the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Cornwall webteam, producing your very own web pages. Find out how to apply.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast takes place in Cornwall from July through until September 2009. It's an opportunity for one enthusiastic young person, aged between 18-22 to go out and about reporting on various music style events and stories in Cornwall.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Cornwall has been home to local blast reporters for many years, and has proven to be a great grounding for future journalists.

Alex Full

Former Blast reporter Alex Full

Our very first Blast reporter, Alex Full is now working at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 1.

Past reporters like Laura Snapes went on to gain further experience at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Top of the Pops and the NME. While former Blast reporter in Cornwall Amy Hall, spent three months working as a music journalist in India.

Blast reporters in the past have had the chance to cover events like the Boardmasters in Newquay, the Eden Sessions, as well as finding out what makes Cornwall such a hot bed of musical talent.

If you'd like to find out more, we want to hear from you.

Also this summer look out for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Blast truck. It's returning to Lemon Quay in Truro, bigger and better, with even more free sessions for you to sign up to.
