The Coventry animal centre re-build appeal has been launched in a desperate attempt to raise funds to replace the worn out kennels and service buildings that provided a Safe Haven for over 1,000 animals during 2005. The estimated cost of the project is approximately £1.3 million pounds and our Coventry RSPCA workers are faced with the challenge of raising at least £600,000 of that money through local fundraising activities, donations and legacies. ![]() Luke, abandoned in the centre car park We lent a camera to one of the inspectors, Nikki Smith, and she kept a video diary for a week, to show us what life is like in the animal centre. The video also demonstrates why the re-build is needed, with a few personal stories of animals the centre helped during the week of filming. Plans have already been drawn up for the re-build and subject to planning consent it’s hoped the work could begin in Spring 2008, as long as enough funds have been raised. last updated: 06/06/2008 at 12:08 You are in: Coventry and Warwickshire > Your Films > A week in an animal centre |
