The toy appeal was launched to coincide with the launch of late night Christmas shopping.

The fun began with Kylie tribute act Kylie Fever, which saw a look-a-like singing classic like Spinning Around, On a Night Like This, Better the Devil You Know and, of course, I Should Be So Lucky.

WM presenter Bob Brolly collected presents donated by shoppers and then gave them to Santa to donate them to children who would not ordinarily receive gifts.

It was the 16th year of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ WM appeal, which this year collected and distributes around 140,000 toys a year for deprived children.

Bob Brolly said, "We need to make sure no one is forgotten this Christmas.

We collected toys for children aged between newborn and sixteen as it's important to get a good range of quality gifts suitable for children of all ages, not just cuddly toys."
