She finds out how they are using the farmland to encourage endangered species.
Hardwick Hall is one of Britain's finest Elizabethan manor houses. Standing high on a hill above the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border the hall is a testament to one woman's desire for wealth and status. Help playing audio/video It was Bess of Hardwick who built this fantastic house after becoming one of the most important women in the court of Elizabeth 1. The house is surrounded by 500 acres of park and woodland and just a few hundred yards to the east of the hall is Hardwick Park Farm.  Hardwick Hall The farm is part of the estate which is now owned by the National Trust. There is a major restoration programme taking place here. The aim is to bring back wildlife, open up the farm to everyone and restore the parkland. Presenter Sanjida O'Connell meets farmers Richard and Clare Aldis who have taken on the challenge on making farming and conservation work together and she discovers that wildlife is already coming back. Sanjida said:Ìý"One of the main aims of this project is to turn all the arable land back into grassland to provide a good habitat for wildlife."
