Q: You're still very young - how did you get into singing and songwriting?
A: I've been writing and performing songs for as long as I can remember.

I've been able to record some of them since I started working with Dave Morris, the guitarist with SecondNature.

I live in Paignton. I've met some great people in Devon but I would like to live somewhere a bit more upbeat and commercial.

Q: Which three words best describe your music.
A: Funky, soulful, melodic.

I've been told I've got a new sound and a unique style of writing. Come and see me live and see if you agree. I'm sure you'll be entertained.

Q: Tell us about the track you've chosen to demo?
A: The track is called Favouritism. It's mainly about yearning to be the favourite thing in someone's life.

Q: What do you reckon to the current music scene?
A: There are lots of bands I like, with loads of energy. I think there are some great lyricists around, such as Daniel Bedingfield and KT Tunstall.

Q: What's been your most memorable musical moment so far?
A: When I performed live at The Riviera Centre in Torquay in the "Stairway To The Stars" competition.

I didn't win (boo-hoo!) but it was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: I love Alanis Morisette, Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera (she has a great voice), Tenacious D, Linkin Park, Jimi Hendrix, loads - but I won't carry on....

Q: If you could invite any three people to a dinner party - who would you choose?
A: Christina Aguilera to sing, Jimi Hendrix to play guitar and Marilyn Monroe to chat with. Party!

Q: Complete the sentence: "When I become famous....."
A: ...I would like my own recording studio, with a record label called 'Sell Out' which would enable me to surround myself with like-minded people.

Mya needs a band - can you help?

I'd also like to travel, because I love moving around and seeing the world and help chosen charities.

At the moment I'm looking for a band to allow me to perform live, so come on all you musicians out there, help me!
