Q: Who is Gill, and where are you based?
A:Gill is me, Edward Gill. Although I was brought up in Newton Abbot, I now live in Plymouth. I call myself Gill because I wanted a band name rather than to go as a solo artist.

Q:Tell us about yourself.
A: I'm 23 (as at April 2007), and I play the piano, guitars and drums. I also provide vocals. I am a singer-songwriter and have been playing in bands since I was 14 - I love playing live. Recently, I have been concentrating on my own material.

Q: Which three words best describe your music?
A: Emotional, passionate, inspiring. I aim to create music that gives people a buzz for whatever reason. I hope people are inspired by listening to my work.

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: My main influence would be Nirvana because of their great songwriting and amazing energy. I also like Green Day, Coldplay, Radiohead, Muse...the list goes on. I still concentrate on producing material that is influenced by who I am, experiences and pure enjoyment in what I do.

Q What do you think of the current music scene?
A: I love to hear new music all the time. I love the American rock scene, such as Green Day and My Chemical Romance. I also like what Coldplay are doing.

Q: What track are you auditioning for us here?
A: The track is called King of Me. I wrote this song a few years ago and it echoes a lot of what I felt around that time. I find it uplifting.

Q: In your own words...sell yourself.
A: Ever since a young age I have always had a passion for music and love to listen, record and play live. It is what I am most at home doing and I hope I will be able to for the rest of my life.
