ѿý Radio Devon Afternoon Show - competition rules

1.The ѿý Code of Conduct for competitions can be found at bbc.co.uk/competitioncode

2.The competition is open to all residents of the UK, including the Channel Islands, aged 18 years or over except ѿý employees and anyone connected with the competition.

3. Entry to the competition is by calling the numbers given out on the programme and answering a qualifying question.Each phone call will be charged at standard rate. Callers must have the bill payer’s consent. Opening and closing times for callingwill be stated during the programme. Calls made outside those times will not count as entries and may be charged.

4.All entrants must supply their names and addresses and daytime telephone number. The ѿý will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission. 5.Entrants have to answer the qualifying question read out on air. Contestants who take part in the on-air part of the competition will be selected at random from entrants with the correct answers. They will then be called back and will need to answer further questions to confirm they are “lively and entertaining”.

The winner is the contestant who scores the highest number of points over the two competition stages. Round 1 at 2.30 pm , and Round 2 at 3.30pm. The Weekly Winner is the person who scores the highest score of the week across the Monday- Friday Broadcasts.

In the event of a tie, a tie-break question will decide the daily winner. In the event of a tie for the weekly winner, two prizes will be issued.

6.The prize consists of a ѿý Radio Devon 25th anniversary commemorative pen or an alternative as stated at the time of Broadcast.

7.The prize is as stated. There is no cash alternative and it is not transferable.

8.The ѿý's decision as to the winner is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

9.The winner will be confirmed and notified on air.Only one on-air entry is allowed per entrant per week. i.e. A caller is allowed to call each day to appear “on air” but having been selected to be a contestant, is then unable to take part again until the following week.

10.The prize will be posted to the winner

11.Entrants must agree to take part in any post-competition publicity.

12. The ѿý reserves the right to disqualify any entries that breach these rules or are in any way fraudulent or inaudible. The ѿý also reserves the right to cancel a competition at any time.

13. The ѿý, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded.

14. This competition is administered by the ѿý and is subject to the law of England and Wales.
