ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW at 90: Afternoon Concert
As part of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW’s 90th birthday, Nicola Heywood Thomas presents a concert from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Hoddinott Hall, and live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3, looking back at artists and composers that have played significant roles in our development and identity.
Celebrating our distinctive role as a both a broadcast and national orchestra of Wales, the programme includes music by Bruch and Mozart, who featured in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW’s very first concert in 1928, alongside iconic Welsh composers Huw Watkins and Mathias, all conducted by Grant Llewellyn.
The Orchestra will be joined by current ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ New Generation Artist Eivind Holtsmark, and former member of the scheme Annelien Van Wauwe, marking ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ NOW’s longstanding partnership with ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3 and their joint commitment to the promotion of new music and artists with a performance of Bruch’s Double Concerto. Plus, we’re delighted to welcome LlÅ·r Williams back for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 22.
It’s set to be a wonderful celebration of the last 90 years, and we do hope you will join us.
