ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 2’s Ken Bruce presents guest singers Rebecca Bottone and Bonaventura Bottone and Richard Balcombe conducts music from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride; Suppe’s The Poet and Peasant; Sullivan’s Yeoman of the Guard and Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody. The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Concert Orchestra’s principal cellist Benjamin Hughes is the soloist in Dvorak’s Silent Woods and pianist Roderick Elms joins the orchestra for Rachmaninov’s 18th variation of his Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini plus Richard Addinsell’s great filmic work The Warsaw Concerto.
