ѿý Philharmonic Chief Guest Conductor, John Storgårds, leads the orchestra in an afternoon celebrating the works of the self-proclaimed “Bad Boy of Music”, George Antheil.
The afternoon includes Antheil’s Third Symphony, subtitled ‘American’, which Antheil wrote mostly during his tour of the southern and western United States. This expansive piece – more a collection of tone-poems than a symphony - captures the boldness and breadth of the continent and gives a musical insight into Antheil’s travels.
