Rising star of the podium Ben Gernon conducts the orchestra at Hanley's historic Victoria Hall.
The orchestra鈥檚 exceptional Principal French horn Alberto Menendez is soloist in Mozart鈥檚 Fourth Horn Concerto. Its delightful bravura finale (and yes, you know it!) is one of the most famous ever written.
The evening begins and ends with Tchaikovsky鈥檚. First of all there's his great interpretation of Romeo and Juliet. He claimed Shakespeare鈥檚 play perfectly suited his musical nature: 鈥淣o kings, no marches 鈥� Just love, love, love!鈥�. The programme concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 Path茅tique.
