Pioneering rugby star Gareth Thomas takes on a gruelling 500 mile bike ride from Cardiff to Aberdeen. The challenge? To deliver the Sports Personality of the Year trophy to the live awards show.
Gareth is cycling on his trusty road bike and a four-seater bike. He’ll be joined by friends along the way who’ll cheer him on and give him a boost by cycling alongside him in the extra seats.

"I've just fallen off into my break. When I say fallen off, I mean that I'm so tired that I just slide off the bike.
The people who have stolen the show are not the celebrities who've helped me, but are in fact the people and organisations that we've met."

So Gareth is now in Montrose on his roadbike and has checked in with Laura Whitmore on 5 live.
"It's been momentous today! I've seen my first sign for Aberdeen.
But there have been some serious lows, physically but also emotionally because I've met the people who benefit from the money that is donated and heard their struggles.
But that's also been a great power to drive me on."

Well, here we are. Day seven: the final stretch. Around 450miles completed by Gareth - just a few to go.
We've got early quattrocycle streaming coming up, before the bulk of the day on the road bike. He then enters Aberdeen on the quattrocycle in what we've bee promised is a spectacular finale.
