Sheku Kanneh-Mason joins the CBSO for Elgar鈥檚 passionate Cello Concerto. The orchestra marks the centenary of Mieczys艂aw Weinberg 鈥� the composer Shostakovich hailed as his successor 鈥� with a rare performance of his folk-inspired Third Symphony.

Jazz, showbiz and spirituality come together in Duke Ellington鈥檚 spectacular Sacred Concerts, which spawned three acclaimed, boundary-crossing albums. Drawing on all three, the Proms presents an exhilarating evening of dance, song and spectacle.

This special concert explores the rich musical legacy of Proms-founder Henry Wood, who celebrates his 150th anniversary this year. A diverse programme of works premiered and championed by the conductor includes music by Wagner, Ravel and Ireland.
