Subtlety is a foreign word in Eurotrip, a tirelessly rude teen romp from the producers of Old School and Road Trip. Like the latter, it sets a group of college pals on an incident-packed journey to rescue the main character's love life. But here the trail runs through Europe, a continent populated by shameless stereotypes that'll make some chuckle and others cringe. Also on the itinerary: a smattering of star cameos; a surprisingly catchy theme song; and a nipple count to rival The Daily Sport's.
Basically, this is National Lampoon's European Vacation for the American Pie era. In place of Chevy Chase's suburban everydad we have student everydude Scotty (Scott Mechlowicz). He's dumped by his girlfriend (Smallville's Kristin Kreuk), so decides to find the babelicious German e-pal (Jessica Boehrs) whom he previously thought was a guy.
First port of call for Scotty and co (including Buffy actress Michelle Trachtenberg) is London, where there's a run-in with some soccer yobs led by - brace yourself, it's a bit of a shocker - Vinnie Jones. The whistlestop tour continues through Paris (robotic mimes), Amsterdam (hash brownies and Lucy Lawless' sex-dungeon dominatrix), and Berlin, where a kid daubs himself with a Hitler moustache and goes goose-stepping.

While this last scene might make a few jaws drop, most of the humour is played too lightly to really shock. Even some of the bawdier stuff - confession-booth sex, anal violation, incest - registers as little more than throwaway japery. Still, the gags are pumped out at a furious rate, from the animated opening through to the end-credits outtakes - where yet more guest stars appear and Jones scores his biggest laugh. There's also a reprise of Eurotrip's anthem, Scotty Doesn't Know: a cruel, amusing thrash workout, you'll probably remember it longer than anything else that this fun but disposable jaunt offers.
