Renowned
broadcaster and household name Sir Trevor Macdonald collected an
Honorary Doctorate from the University of Gloucestershire on Friday
November 5.

Trevor gave a speech at the afternoon graduation ceremony on the
value of journalism in the modern world.

also opened the university's new broadcast journalism studios and
fielded questions from students of the faculty.
The
new facilities, at Cheltenham's Pitville Campus, include a computer
suite and newroom featuring state-of-the-art editing equipment.
Other
well-known recipients of honorary doctorates at the university this
year include writer Dick King-Smith, famous for his talking pigs,
and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Gardener's World presenter Chris Beardshaw.
