Loz Bridge And The Box Social

The banjo and double bass wielding four-piece from Portsmouth brought their contemporary sound into Phil Jackson's Live Lounge.

Loz Bridge And The Box Social is fronted and driven by singer/songwriter Loz Bridge who's ended up in Portsmouth via the bizarre route of Preston and Amsterdam.

Preston has left a stamp on Loz that goes beyond the subtle Lancashire accent; with the city's mix of urban south and more rural element to the north flavouring his songs.

Guitarist Andy Foster - a singer/songwriter in his own right, is currently touring the south coast supporting Nik Kershaw and Stephen Fretwell.

The combination is completed by 'Big' Matt E on drums and percussion and Andy BoothÌý - a mild mannered college tutor by day, and double bass wielding wizard by night!

Following their live session, Phil Jackson described their sound as; "like a musical collision involving Tom Waites and the Stereophonics at a lock-in!"

Earlier this year the band supported ex-Crash Test Dummy Son Of Dave at Eastney Cellars, and have their first EP due out at the end of 2008.
