The Ashbies in session

The Ashbies

The Winchester four-piece have recently reunited after a spell of travelling during the obligatory gap year and are now making a fresh start - they joined Phil Jackson in the South:Live lounge.

The band originally set itself in motion in 2004, drawing on classic bands and artists like The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Kinks and Lou Reed and have been described as 'the Arctic Monkeys on a Beatles trip'.

While still a college band, labels became interested in them - leaving Will, Fitz, Brendan and Jon in the dilemma of whether to continue their studies or set sail on the high seas of rock n' roll.

They decided to leave college, but as they did the music industry changed and everything went deathly quiet on the deal front.

Fresh from a spell of travelling round different corners of the world, they've kicked off a spanking new year by getting back together and are now rehearsing, and writing new material for a new album.

With a new manager at the helm, they hope to be back on the live circuit shortly and and are already on the line-up for this year's Blissfields festival in July.
