Nina Schofield

The Winchester singer/songwriter visited Phil Jackson in the South:Live lounge to play four of her self-penned tracks.

Nina Schofield's music is a kooky style of absorbing pop/folk with soaring vocals and thought-proving lyrics; and can be best described as a cross between PJ Harvey and Kate Bush.

Nina is based in Winchester but is currently studying towards a Vocal Performance Degree at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford.

She's recently been lucky enough to get the offer of a collaboration with producer Richard Niles who's worked with everyone from Mariah Carey to Sir Paul McCartney and Westlife.

"He took a liking to my music last year, and decided that we should do an album together.Ìý So hopefully I'll be recording the album and then taking it over to LA and releasing a single there."

Her talent has also found her in the semi-finals for the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s Young Folk Awards last year and in 2007 she performed at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival.
