Hayley Westenra

Picked at six years old by a teacher to take the lead singing part in a school play, and so it began...

Hayley Westenra popped into ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Hereford and Worcester to have a Pie and a Pint with Tony Fisher and to talk about the influences for her album Treasure.

Hayley is the fastest-selling debut classical artist to date.

Her first album, Pure, went twelve times platinum in her native New Zealand, where it's the biggest-selling record of all time, having spent 18 weeks at No. 1 in the pop album charts.

It also went platinum in Australia and Japan, where it is the best-selling classical record in the country's history, as well as triple platinum in the UK.
