This is a story that my Great Uncle Jim used to tell me every time I visited him.
Uncle Jim was born in February 1911. When he was in his late 20's early 30's Uncle Jim decided to join the RAF, because one of his sister's had joined in the wages office so he thought it would do him good.
After learning everything he had to know to be in the RAF Uncle Jim was ready.
The unfortunate thing was thatI don't think he ever really flew planes for the RAF because he was a lot older than the other RAF members, they called him Pop.
Uncle Jim passed away a few months ago. I hope others enjoy reading his story because I loved hearing it from him.
