RAF Italy. Football presentation. 1944, possibly March. Italy, perhaps Foggia.
I wonder if anyone can help me identify the RAF personnel in the photo. My father, LAC John Smith, brought it home with him after the war. It was taken (I think) in Italy, perhaps Foggia, 1944.
On the back is written:
"Well played and good luck in the future"
It is signed perhaps by the person making the presentation. Unfortunately I cannot make out the signature, but he is probably the Commanding Officer.
Does anyone know any of those in the photo, and in particular, the commanding officer or the football event?
Any info will be much appreciated.
