I was 15 when war broke out and I had always lived on a farm. When I heard about the Land Army I just knew that was for me so I joined at 17.
These were some of the happiest days of my life. I worked mostly with sheep, helping with lambing and tending over 100 sheep on my own.
I helped out with anything and everything and it was very hard work. There were haymaking, harvesting, horses and tractor driving and I really loved it. I made so many new friends.
I know this sounds strange but if I had my time again I would do it all again!
