Iwent to school in Ramsgate during the war, my father being in the army,in Dover he had my mother and me move from Coventry . Well it was 1943 the winter ,we used to go to school early in the morning ,go into class the register was called and then we moved out to the shelters ,these where on the playing fields. This morning in question it had been snowing and during the morning we were aloud to go out and play.I remember looking up in the sky and seeing this huge plane coming towards the playing field ,it had hardley any tail ,and i remember seeing that some engines where not running .then the parachutes came out.But we had to go inside the shelter ,but later ,i learned it was a B17 bomber. Memories
