It was near the start of the war and I was living in Forest Hill in London. I was on my way home from work and had just got off the bus to walk the rest of the way. As I was walking the air raid sirens went off. This was one of the first times I had heard the noise so panicked, I decided to run the rest of the way home.
I had to run through a tunnel and as I did so a man stopped me and yelled at me to stay where I was. The sirens continued and I was so frightened that I stood there in this dark tunnel and wet myself. I was so embarrassed but so glad it was night time!
