We would hear the siren every night
Giving everyone an awful fright
Up we would jump out of a nice warm bed
Run under the stairs to bump our head
Doodle bugs flying overhead
How I wish I was back in bed
All of a sudden it would stop
We’d all listen to hear where it would drop
Windows broken on the floor
Then it was morning once more
