I was living in Apsley Cotts, Chartham near Canterbury during the war with my older brother and sister and my mother.
Air raid shelters were built behind the school. I spent time in them later when air raid warnings were sounded reciting poetry and tables. School dinners arrived, (lovely, better than prairie sandwhiches) and a small bottle of milk.
It was good to be a monitor. Extras if any!
