As a child when the sirens went off, I was petrified. My Mum would make us go into our cupboard under the stairs. One night she left us to go upstairs and look out the window, she watched as the flares came down over Belfast Lough. She said that it was a wonderful sight. When the bombs were dropped it was a different story. We heard screaming down in Greencastle Mill, alot of people had been killed. Life went on as best, we would go dancing in the Blackouts with our torches.
