I was on my way home from the cinema one night with a friend. Suddenly the siren went and there were incendiary bombs dropping all the tim. We ran home ducking under hedges trying to avoid the bombs. We were almost home and I remember hanging onto the gate thinking that I would die when I saw a parachute bomb fluttering down towards me. Then the wind made the bomb move towards the bottom of the hill away from me. When it went off, the force of the explosion blew my cheek up into the air.
