Patricia was stationed in Gillis Yard, Armagh, during the war. She was employed with eight other civilian girls making camaflauge material. The army was also stationed in Gillis Yard during this time. It was here that Patricia met her husband; he was a conscript from England. He was to later see action, but Patricia can’t recall where. Patricia recounts that the soldiers used to give the girls chocolate out of their rations.
