I remember how cold the winter’s were. The sound of the chains on the buses and lorries when it snowed. The coats we put on our beds at night to keep warm. The barricades on Nettleham Rd which the boys hid behind and snowballed us. The patterns on the frosted windows, the shortage of electricity when we could only have one bar on, the frozen taps and plugholes and drains.
