I remember very clearly my father who was also an ARP Warden would not let us come out of the air raid shelter whilst there was an air raid on. But on this one particular occasion he asked us all to get out while the air raid was still on to show us the sky line which was Coventry being blitzed. I remember the sky looking like one big ball of fire.
