This story was submitted to the Peoples War site by Hilary was about 3 or 4 years old when I happened, they had had a meal inside the station then they walked to the station there was only the end compartment left to sit on and she remembers she left her coat in the restaurant and her mother had gone back to collect it, Hilary was left with her mothers friend and her 2 children and a boy looked out of the window and said there’s bombs coming out of that plane, my mother saw the train being hit and she ran towards it but a army captain stopped her and that saved her life, the whole train was blew up apart from the end compartment they were the only six people to walk of the train alive.
