I was enjoying a night at the Savoy cinema in Lincoln when Bettles the chemist on Saltergate was bombed.
It shook the cinema and we were evacuated.
I had parked my bike next to the cinema in the compound when I went in. When I came out it was no more and I found myself walking back to Waddington in total blackout darkness.
