Mothers and children from Manchester, Liverpool were evacuated to Lancashire. My family had two girls. They were called Mac and June.

Lots of things were organised for these children in the village. The children had a lovely time and did not want to leave at the end of the war.

I was the Sunday School Guide and some of the children who came to stay had never been to Sunday school - and they enjoyed it.

We really loved them, so it was sad when they all left.
